Hiring a marquee can be expensive and if you haven’t done it before you probably have a few questions in mind. Below, we have included some basic questions and answers about marquees that we hope will help will help you decide if a marquee is the right option for you.

1. What size marquee do I need and how do I know if it will fit in our garden?

If you look at our price list there is an indication of how many people seated can comfortably fit in each size marquee.  If you are at all unsure of your available garden space, please contact us for a free site visit.

2. What is the cost?

The price will depend on your exact requirements.  Everything is priced separately so that you can create your ideal marquee for the budget you have available.  See our pricing page for more information

3. Are marquees waterproof?

Yes they are.  In very heavy rain you occasional get slight seepage along the perimeter but this should not affect your event.  The only way to prevent this completely is to have wooden flooring.

4. Do you supply other equipment or just marquees?

Yes we supply a wide range of equipment from tables, chairs, flooring to heating, lighting and staging.

5. How many doorways can we have?

Doorways can be created almost anywhere in a marquee either by folding back walls or erecting wooden double doors in metal doorframes.

6. What counts as a single hire period?

Most events happen at  a weekend so a single hire period goes from when the marquee is erected (one or two days in advance) to when it is dismantled (usually the Monday or Tuesday afterwards.  We are very flexible so just give us a call if you are at all unsure.

7. Do we need to have linings?

No but they do completely transform the look of a marquee.  Most people have linings for weddings and anniversaries.  Without linings, you will see the internal framework and PVC walls but these are regularly renewed and in good condition.  Unlined marquees work well for parties and regattas.

8. Can the marquee butt up to the house?

Yes marquees can butt up to a house.  You can also have a link canopy.  A free site visit is advisable.

9. Will the marquee be warm enough?

We do supply a range of thermostatically controlled gas or oil heaters if required.  As you will normally have your marquee a day or two in advance of the event you will be able to decide for yourself if you require heating and this can be added if needed.

10. Do marquees get too hot in summer?

Marquees can get very warm in summer, but sides can be opened or taken down if necessary.  This is quite a simple process and we will show you how to do this for yourself on erection of the marquee.

11. What colour marquees do you do?

Our traditional pole marquees are white. 
Our clearspan marquees are white.
Our frame marquees are white or green and white.

12. Can two or more marquees be joined together?

Yes they can.  This is particularly useful as it can accommodate for different shapes of gardens.

13. Can marquees go on hard ground/concrete?

Yes, marquees can go on hard ground/concrete but may need to be bolted down or have very heavy weights attached.

14. When do we need to pay?

A 25% deposit is required when you book the marquee, with the balance being paid on erection of the marquee.
